Brain Teasers to help you ease the pain of work?

1. A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him?

2. A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out together and enjoy a wonderful dinner together. How can this be?

3. There are two plastic jugs filled with water. How could you put all of this water into a barrel, without using the jugs or any dividers, and still tell which water came from which jug?

4. What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and gray when you throw it away?

5. Can you name three consecutive days without using the words Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday?

6. This is an unusual paragraph. I'm curious how quickly you can find out what is so unusual about it. It looks so plain you would think nothing was wrong with it. In fact, nothing is wrong with it! It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out.

DO YOU THINK YOU KNOW THE ANSWERS?!?!?!

When to let go

Imagine this:

In your hands is a very precious creation so fragile, so valuable that if you keep on holding it, it either stay or fall apart. But you loved this creature so much that letting it go would be comparable to letting go of your life as well, so much that sometimes you wished it would always be there, so much that you tend to be selfish so as you could make it stay for as long as you want.

There comes a time in our lives we chance upon someone "so nice" and "almost perfect" and we just find ourselves getting so intensely attached to that person (sometimes even without realizing it!). This feeling soon becomes a part of our daily lives and eventually guzzles our thoughts and actions to the extent that we dagged it as one of those "too good to be true" things. Then in our desperate attempt to get closer, our efforts are still futile and we still feel sorry for ourselves.

One person once said, "Never let your heart run your life. As much as you can always be sensible and let your mind speak for itself. Try to listen not merely on what your feelings are evoking but more importantly listen to reason as well. "

Letting go of someone doesn't necessarily mean you have to stop loving, it only means that you allow the person to find his own happiness without expecting him to come back. Letting go is
not just letting the other person free "in the real sense of it," but it is also setting yourself free from all animosities, hostility and
resentments that was long kept in your heart. You have to let go because the bitterness often diminishes the strength and weakens the little hope left, making our lives more miserable than ever.

If i lose you today, it means that someone better is coming tomorrow. If i lose love that doesn't mean i failed in love, probably it was another mismatch in heaven...

Monaco Models

Anyone here from Monaco Models?

I've been freelance for quite a while now after I had my contract with Elan Models International terminated. I got a chance to meet the owner of Monaco Models ---who seems to be a very nice guy--- last month during the MTV Fashionista party and got an invitation to go and visit their office in Makati.

I've been asking around and got nothing but good words from my friends who are also talents of Monaco or have worked with the agency.

Well I guess I'm just wondering if I should go for it.

Christmas at Valenzuela

My living room in ValenzuelaMy study in ValenzuelaHome sweet home

I'll be going home to my folk's for the first time in 3 months to celebrate Christmas with them and I'm looking forward to seeing my mom and my dad and my two sisters. Don't have my room anymore though since my younger sister Grace is already using it. I guess they figured I wouldn't need it anymore since I moved out of Valenzuela when I was 19. Hehehe!

Anyway Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

I swear I'm gonna puke...

So this is how it feels to be up for more than 24 hours... and here's the catch... I'm still at work here at my desk in eTelecare International in Eastwood City.

Got out of work yesterday around 1PM went to my apartment to change and checked in at Astoria Hotel to meet my friends Hershey, Uma and Eileen before leaving for Rockwell. Then from Rockwell had to go to ParaƱaque and change for the Christmas Party at Government in Makati Ave.

Was just starting to enjoy the party when I got a text from my boss reminding me of the meeting with our Dell partners from India at 2AM... What a bummer especially when you're having fun.

But I swear I was trying my best not to fall asleep during the meeting. Acting sober which was hard considering I had 5 glasses of vodka. Hehehehe!

Models' Party @ Government

Last night was definitely a night of fashion, glitter, and glamour as the top models of manila, casters, fashion directors, designers and photographers converge in one terrific venue in Makati City. Government, formerly known as Orange before it became Olives, played host to this year's model party by SAGA in cooperation with YDG.

The already congested Makati Avenue without a doubt was jam-packed with a myriad of chic cars that seemed to arrive continuously from no one knows where. Everyone came in their nice and funky outfits that added to the sparkle or the night.

Inside Government the party was even hotter with drag queens coming from all directions giving a feeling of being transported to the actual set of the movie Moulin Rouge. Old friends/buddies, and acquaintances chat the night away while sipping their favorite alcoholic drinks and watching the event that's happening in the center of the club.

All in all the party was a blast... until next year!

I've learned...

I've learned that there would always be a time to say goodbye
I've learned that there would always be failures on every triumph
I've learned that life is not perfect
But I've learned... after each storm there's always a silver lining

The enigma of life

Ever wondered why there are times when you feel like your life's falling apart? Ever felt that there is something missing in your life? With the myriad of choices we make everyday ever wondered what if you decided to take things in a different way? What could have been or would have been? I've made minor and major mistakes in my life... I've met all sorts of people who made me who I am today. I've made so many things that changed the way I view life and it's intricacies, but at the end of the day only one question remains... Am I happy?

My angst and frustrations...

Rose and GraceRose and GraceAyan, Rose, and Grace

I've been so busy lately that I never get to do things that for me are important... I haven't seen my family in Valenzuela for almost 3 months now. I wonder how my mom and my dad are doing. I haven't seen Rose and Grace for quite a while too. I wonder how our house looks like now... I hope my grandma's ok.

Juggling between meetings and planning for the event on January, organizing the modeling workshop in Ortigas, working for eTelecare International while balancing my personal life is starting to be a problem. Plus there's my plan of moving my stuff to my new apartment by this week. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! These are the times that I wish I'm just home in Valenzuela with my family. My mom would always know what to do. But I'm not and have no plans of living with them again. Independence has it's advantages and disadvantages... I just have to live with it.

Grrrrrrr... why do I have to put myself into so much stress? I guess it's because I'm not used to sitting down doing nothing... I would die of boredom.

Talent Unlimited Productions Incorporated

Aside from working for a call center I also handle the Marketing / PR department for Talent Unlimited Productions Incorporated. It's basically a modeling school / events company that me and my friends put up. Everyone's gearing up for the big event come January 2005. Arnel Timog called me this morning updating me with the status of the negotiations with Metrowalk and some other sponsors. Tomorrow I'm tasked to present my proposal for the different radio and TV stations in Manila for media mileage.

Tomorrow is the start of Lesson 5 which is Introduction to Advanced (modeling). Kuku Trinidad and Carlo Adorador kept on reminding our students last week not to be late because this is the part of the workshop where they will be teaching them the ropes and the tricks in modeling and they should be on time cause they will start on time no matter what plus it's a way to teach them to be professionals and understand that if they want to be a model they have to be serious about it. Some people think that a model's life is all fun and all glamour when in fact it's hard. If you're a model you have to:

1. Be on time.
2. Look good all day.
3. Be healthy.
4. Have a good attitude / personality.
5. Good communication skills
6. Have the energy to work and be ready 24 / 7

Anyway I'll keep you guys posted... Gotta go back to work.

I'm moving to my new apartment

After staying in my condo in Eastwood for almost three years... it's time to move out. I'll be moving to an apartment in front of camp aguinaldo within the week... I'm doing this to save money and cut some expenses. The apartment is bigger and yet cheaper than my rent in my condo. It has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a receiving area, washroom and a free parking space.

Really love Dan Brown novels. Too bad I don't have time like I used to. I just finished reading Da Vinci code and is currently finishing Angels & Demons --- it's the prequel to the DVC. All I can say is that Dan Brown is a genius. Any Dan Brown fans here?

P.S.
Thanks to my friend Grace Tapia for introducing me to Dan's work and also encouraging me to start an account here in Blogspot.

Tropical Storm Yoyong

I really can't believe I went out on the eve of the storm Yoyong. I was not supposed to go out but who cares right? Was kinda scared though on the way to my friend Audie Espino's (Calcarrie's International) place (Crown Towers Condo) in Makati, although I felt ok the moment I got there.

I was so happy to see those familiar faces again Uma Barum and his sister Rose, Audie Espino, Jerome and Bobby, Bora their Spanish friend, Albert Adrales, Ronald of Tiananmen Bar in Makati Ave., and Jeff their English friend.

Ayan: So did I miss anything?

Uma: Not really. We just had dinner. Let's go for a smoke before going out!

Jeff: Partying on the eve of a storm when everyone else is suffering, we should be ashamed of ourselves! Come on guys let's go to Tiananmen then Government and Party 'til we drop!

Everyone laughed.

What we take for Granted

In life we take a lot for granted;
It maybe our family, our friends,
Perhaps even our own lives.

When we sleep at night, pray
For It maybe our last.
What's been said can bring joy
But it can also bring sorrow.

Watch what you say;
Coz what you say can cause pain
If not now in the future.

Life is short and life is precious;
Make the most out of it.
Always treat this day your last;
Remember what's done is done.

Our future is now
And now is forever
Always treat people how u want to be treated.

What we take for granted won't always be there
Treat the people around you with respect
Especially those you care about.
Always remember to smile :)

You know how it feels to get hurt
And you know that it sucks!
I know, cause like you I felt it too.

So don't take people or things for granted
They won't be there all the time.
Love what you got
and love will be returned.

Uma and Rose raids my condo part 3

Eastwood City by day

Eastwood City by night

2PM we wanted to get something to eat. Got to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, ordered breakfast and went to People are People to check out some clothes and stuff. We each grabbed a hat and started posing as if we're in front of the camera. I got the brown leather cowboy hat while Rose got this cute knitted white hat and Uma got this French hat.

Ayan: So what do we do now?

Rose: Hey I wanna watch The Incredibles

Uma: Gusto nyo ko matulog?

Ayan: Bakit?

Rose: Hay naku si kuya natutulog sa loob ng sinehan yan.

Ayan: Hey there's this bowling center in Eastwood Cinema Mall wanna try it out?

Rose: Ako ok lang. Si kuya di ko alam.

Uma: Ok lang.

On our way to the bowling center we saw Napoleon. You know this clothing store for kids. You won't believe it but they have really good clothes. Not that I want to by them for my "inaanaks" this Christmas. We're buying clothes for ourselves. Hehehe! The idea actually came from Uma. He hates buying clothes that are too big for him or too expensive. You would be surprised (I know I was) to get good deals in places like this. After checking some clothes we decided to go to the bowling center.

Was kinda weird at first because there weren't so many people today. I guess it's too early. Anyway Uma said he doesn't know how to play but would love to try it out. His lack of experience didn't stop him from having fun and at the end of the first game he was asking us to play one more round.

It was such a busy day and they had to go but I had fun. Until next time people.

Uma and Rose raids my condo part 2

Rose

6:00 AM and I'm feeling so sleepy here at the office. Not that I'm surprised. I only had 4 hours of sleep because I went out to meet this guy who is interested to share the room on my new apartment yesterday. Plus the fact that I wasn't feeling well. I guess it's because I was caught in the rain on my way home plus the fact that I had to wake up an hour earlier to entertain my guests.

Anyway I wonder what Uma and Rose is up to? I really feel bad not being able to stay with them because of work but I don't have a choice. Half awake I started walking towards the condo from my office to check on my guests. When I opened the door I can hear the TV. Are they still up? Thinking they were, I started shouting "Honey I'm home!" No response. I then saw Uma and Rose on the bed still sleeping... turning off the TV I tip toed towards the bed and tried waking them? No response. "Grabe parang mantika matulog 'tong mga to!" I then took out my handy camera phone and started taking pictures. They'll kill me after for sure but who cares. Hehehehe! I then went to the veranda for a smoke. When I got back they're still fast asleep. I even laid in the middle of the bed and started waking them up. Still nothing. Well I guess they're really tired. With that I left and texted them "Pota tulog na tulog ang mga anak ko?" I then met my co-workers who also are on their break at McDonald's Eastwood.

12:00 noon got a call from Uma. "Asan ka?", he said. "I'm still at work duh?", I told him. "Uwi ka na tell them you're sick or something. Bilisan mo naliligo si Rose lokohin natin!" I told him I'd love to but I won't be done until 1PM. 1:15PM walking home I called them up and they said they're bored waiting for me. When I got to the condo I saw them getting ready. "May go see ba tayo or pictorial today? Bakit ayos na ayos kayo?" Uma said "We're models! We have to. Hehehehe!"

Uma and Rose raids my condo part 1

Uma Barum

Got a call from UMA today Not that I'm not used to getting calls and text from him everyday (thanks to SUN Cel). "Where are you?" He said he's in G4 waiting for his date. I said "You on a date? Since when did you start going out for a date?", I said.

Not that he is not good looking to go for a date. (He wouldn't make it to 2004 COSMO 69 bachelors if he wasn't) I told him it's so unlike him to date someone... I even teased him saying "Di ba di mo na nga kailangang makipag-date kasi dami mo na ka-MU? Hahahaha!" Later I found out it's a fake date for a show in GMA7. I think it's for Extra Extra! Well he said they were suppose to start the shoot in Greenbelt around 9PM but from the way things are going he thinks they wouldn't start until 11PM and wanna ask a favor. He wants to know if it's ok for him and his sister to spend the night since they'll probably finish shooting around 1AM and doesn't wanna go home all the way to ParaƱaque City. I haven’t seen his sister for a quite a while so I readily said "Yes!"

RING! RING! "What the f_ck?" I looked at the clock on the side table... 2AM. It's not that I'm not used to waking up this early. On most occasions I would be up as early as 2 - 3 AM thanks to my job as an agent in a reputable call center here in Eastwood City. "Who could that be?", I told myself. Half naked and still half asleep I answered the phone. "Hello? Ayan! Uma 'to andito na kami sa baba... akyat na kami ha!" Shit I forgot they're coming over. My head still hurts. Anyway I put on a shirt and greeted them at the door.

"Ayan!", it was Uma's sister Rose shouting at the top of her lungs. "Rose how are you?", I said. I really miss this girl and is so glad to see her again plus the fact that she will be leaving soon for Israel in December but she promised that we will go to Cebu for a short vacation first before she leaves.

"I'm hungry!", Rose said. "I haven't eaten anything yet since this morning!" I guess it's alright to have an early breakfast. So with that we went down to Ministop to get a quick food fix. I got a fill of my fave smoked hotdog while Uma just got a bottle of water, Rose got wanton rice and fried chicken. Man this girl can eat.

After eating I told them "O mga anak alis muna si daddy. Papasok lang sa trabaho!". "What? You have work?", Uma said. "Yeah. I told you I have work." "You told me you don't have work today. Good thing I didn't go here by myself. You know I'll die if I sleep here in your condo alone." I guess I should be partly blamed. I told them about my spooky experience in my condo (I even went out on TV - MGB last year telling my story on national television quite cause some talks among my friends in reference to my place) "Nothing's gonna happen to you Uma don't worry plus you have your sister and I'll be home tomorrow 1PM. I'll try to check up on you later during my break." Something tells me he doesn't want to believe me because he himself experienced it first hand when he stayed at my place before. But that is something worth talking about next time. With that I got ready and left.
