The story revolves around Rodney Copperbottom (voiced by Ewan McGregor), a wannabe-inventor leaving his family home in Rivet Town to head for the bustling metropolis of Robot City, where he plans to get a job under gadget mogul Bigweld (Mel Brooks). The only problem is, when he finally gets there he finds out that the big industry isn't all it's made out to be on the telly, and not long after he finds himself in trouble with a powerful enemy in the shape of corporate executive Ratchet (Greg Kinnear).
Although the story is not very original the idea of robots interacting with each other and dealing with daily problems humans ecounter is still worth watching plus there are a number of funny scenes in this movie that everyone would surely enjoy.
There's been so much care and attention put into building this movie... from the robot world down to it's inhabitants... a favorite scene of mine was the dominos scene which would definitely make you wonder how many days it took them to create that scene.
'Robots' is not perfect, but it's very well presented and - most importantly - a lot of fun.
I will give it 4 out of 5 stars
