Driving more traffic to your blog

I recently had the chance to go back to my blogging. Been looking around the internet for information on the new technologies and strategies to get more page views on my site. I guess I got really perked up with the idea of people getting really high page visits per month. I stumbled upon this website www.problogger.net. This website basically gives suggestions on how you can get more traffic to your blog and I found this really cool tool that makes it work really well called CrazyEgg that basically lets you know what you're readers are clicking on your website. Pretty useful stuff especially for people like me who doesn't have a captured audience yet. I mean, I've been blogging since 2004 but I never really got the chance to blog about something that I know my visitors would love to read about. Another tool that I'm using now that makes my work a lot easier is called ScribeFire it's really a cool tool that allows you to blog even without logging manually into Blogger. Saves me alot of time and energy. Well that's it for now... Will post more articles soon. :)

Networking

I finally got to use what I learned at training... I got to shared my Internet connection with the old mac I have at home. My sister's so happy coz finally she can go online in peace. Well, works for both of us... now I don't get to be bothered when I go online! Hahaha!

Things you never knew your mobile phone can do...

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.

Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for
survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

*I*

*
The Emergency Number worldwide for **Mobile** is 112.* If you find
yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an

emergency,
dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to
establish the emergency number for you,
and interestingly this number 112
can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
**Try it out.**

Subject: Have you locked your keys in the car? Does you car have remote
keys?*

This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone:

If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call

someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person

at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on

their end. Your car will unlock.
Saves someone from having to drive your
keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away,

and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you

can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Subject: Hidden
Battery power

Imagine your cell battery is
very low, you are expecting an important call
and you don't have a charger.
Nokia instrument comes with a reserve
battery.
To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with
this reserve and the instrument will show a
50% increase in battery. This
reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on

your phone:

* # 0 6 #

A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your

handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. when your phone get

stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They

will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the

SIM card, your phone will be totally useless.

You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever

stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile

phones.

Please spread this useful information around

Multiply Inbox always full?

This is for Multiply Users...

Do you always gets PM (Private Messages) in your Inbox? This happens when a Multiply User sends a message to a group and someone replies to that message. I know some people don't mind getting this message but some people find it annoying (specially if more than 100 users reply to the same message)

Here's how to solve this problem:

Multiply has a feature where you can remove unwanted personal messages in your Inbox.

1. Go to Inbox
2. Click Preferences (It's on the upper right beside RSS and just above the Groups tab)
3. You will be taken to the Inbox settings.
4. Put a check mark on Show "Subscribe," "Pin," and "Remove" links.
5. Click OK.

The next time you go to your Inbox you will notice that there will be three small gray icons on the bottom right side of each messages. You can click the X mark to remove this message and for you not to receive a notification everytime somebody replies to that message.

My new camera - Pentax Optio M50

I finally got myself a new camera... Been thinking about getting one for the longest time but since I'm a tightwad I was postponing it until now.

I was looking around at so many shops for the past two or three weeks trying to check the best camera for my money.

I was thinking of getting the Olympus Stylus 790 S that promises to be shock and water proof but Php 19K to as much as 20K is not practical for me though I know Olympus cameras take good quality pictures.

Then I found this other camera the GE G2. GE G2's very light and thin! It's cheaper at Php11K but my concern is there's is no service center here in the Philippines... none yet as what the sales lady told me plus GE's kinda new in the Digital Camera Industry.

I then checked out this Casio Exilim Z80 which is cheap at Php10K but when I checked the quality of pictures it takes... well let's just say I was disappointed. The colors are not right. The picture gets pixelated when you zoom it among other things.

I was starting to lose hope until I found this camera that is not too expensive yet takes good pictures like my old Kodak camera... (didn't buy Kodak because it's too expensive though the quality is really good) I found the Pentax Optio M50.

I remember my younger sister buying a Pentax SLR camera for her project when she was in college. She was taking up Advertising back then and had this photography class... Oooh I envy her! Anyway I decided to go with my gut feel and bought this cam and I must say... this is really a good camera! Will post pics soon. :)

Specifications
  • 8.0 megapixel CCD assures high resolution images
  • 5X optical zoom contained in a compact, lightweight body
  • Evolved Face Recognition includes “Smile Capture” mode to automatically capture smiling faces
  • Digital Shake Reduction automatically selects higher ISO, up to 6400, for blur free images
  • 2.5 inch, wide view (approx. 170 degrees) LCD makes capturing and reviewing images easy
  • Panorama mode automatically stitches a series of three images into one wide scene

WIFI

Got myself a Linksys WRT54G broadband router... installed it and followed the directions and got it to work with the two SE P990i phones at home and the PSP but when I tried using it with my MSI Laptop running Ubuntu... it was detected but I can't seem to connect to it! Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Ok I'm over reacting again! I'll just do some research and hopefully I get to make it work. :)

My DSL's going haywire!

My internet connection at home is going crazy on me again! Arrg!

It's been doing this since Middle of Feb when they fixed the national road in my area. I would be able to connect one time and get disconnected all of a sudden... sometimes I can't even go online entirely. I thought Bayan DSL would be different... tsk tsk tsk! But I plan to stick it out with them and give them a chance to redeem themselves! After all they waved my bill for Feb! Hahaha!
